What are the fibers made of?
Timeless Touches fibers are all quality, high-grade commercial design fibers used by knitters and weavers. The fiber content varies and includes cotton, wool, linen, silk, mohair and rayon.
Are they safe for my scrapbooks?
Yes. Fibers are naturally acid free.
How do I use them?
Fibers are incredibly easy to use on your project! Check out our How To page for hints and tips
and the Gallery for some ideas on how to incorporate them into your scrapbook page or card.
Where do the fibers come from?
All over the world! We use many different suppliers in order to provide a wide variety of textures and colors. The fibers we use originate in countries such as Italy, France, Belgium, Brazil, and even the US. All of the assembly and packaging, however, are done within the United States.
Why do the assortments change sometimes?
Our suppliers change their product line based on the season and popularity, among other things. What may look terrific on your card or scrapbook page, may not be a big seller among the textile trade as a whole. When we have a particular fiber that's very popular, we stock up to avoid changes, but sometimes they're unavoidable. When this happens, we try to choose a comparable fiber for that collection. We update our product pages often to reflect any changes that have occurred, but there is a possibility that the fiber card you purchase would look slightly different from what you see here.
Why do you have 4 yards per bundle instead of just one or two? Do I really need that much of each kind? And why are
some of the fibers in bundles and some on cards?
We have found that some layouts and cards really do take quite a bit of fiber, especially if you're stitching or making tags. We don't want you to be in the middle of a project and run out!
We began packaging our fibers in bundles because we learned that wrapping them around a card can sometimes cause kinks that don't come out later.
However, scrapbookers and stampers have changed the way we use fibers on
projects. We have changed our line to reflect that and now focus exclusively
on Stitchable Fibers. When stitching with fibers, any previous kinks get
stitched into project and aren't seen. Storing them on cards is no longer an
issue and we really like keeping them in the Quick Stitch Storage Tote this
way.
I don't really need a cork board, do I?
We have tried
a lot of different work surfaces and have not found anything as easy to use
as this high-density cork board. It keeps the cardstock from puckering or
creasing while piercing, yet the piercer tip of the Multi-Tool goes in and
out of the cork effortlessly. It is naturally self-healing and can be used
over and over again without any signs of wear. You can also use it for
attaching brads & nailheads and it works perfectly as a quilling board.
I don't see prices or a shopping cart. How do I buy your products?
We believe it
is important to support our local scrapbook and rubber stamp stores so we do
not sell direct to consumers via our website. Check out our store
locator to find a store near you as well as online stores. If your
favorite store isn’t listed, please tell them about us. We will be happy to
send them our wholesale information.
